Creating Configuration Files

Everyone of Senitrus’ devices with a microSD card slot can have a configuration file. Once you created your Senitrus ID, you would be able to create a configuration account for each device. When you place your order with Senitrus, your order will be built, and before packaging the systems will be tied to your ID. This will make it easier to get everything settled on your end. The configuration files will have things like wifi? connections, Senitrus ID password, and various other things depending on the device to install to. In example, a printer with FOIP? capabilities will need a SIP? account in its configuration file. However, a television will have no need for such knowledge.

When you start to create the configuration files, you would provide some information that would be needed. As mentioned, it will be dependent on the device itself. For the computers, the very important things will definitely be social network since that seems to be a big deal for most people. You can choose to install a SIP account since a computer can support speakerphone, or earphones.

Right before your order ships, you would be able to download a configuration file. You will want to install that on a USB-C thumb drive of 1GB or greater. The thumb drive should be formatted for exFAT so that Linux and Android based systems will be able to read from. When you get your order, you would you would download the configuration files. Extract the ZIP file, and store the files on the thumb drive. Once you done that, do not change the filenames no matter how cryptic they look. It is very important.

I will assume that you have a modem (also functions as a router), computer, printer, W series of handheld phones, and a smartphone. The first thing to do is unpack everything. Any P series accessories you have, you would want to acquire the nanoSIM for that device, and get the included microSD card. Insert the nanoSIM, and microSD card into the tray. Plug the devices into the wall. Since you will have a smartphone, if you have a number lock on your phone, unlock the number. This is essential to eventually transfer your phone number to the new smartphone.

If your modem has a nanoSIM card, then bring the card along with the thumb drive. Unplug the old modem at the modem port. Plug in the coaxial into the new modem. Eject the tray, and insert the nanoSIM (if applicable), and microSD card into the tray, and insert the tray into the modem. Insert the thumb drive into the front of the modem. If you have any wired LAN? devices such as ATA?s or NAS?, then you would want to do that as well. You would find a thick USB-C cable. Plug one end in the back of the modem, and the other end in the included 80 watt power brick. Once the modem is plgged in, there will be lights that would light up. You will see the status light blink quickly. It is reading the configuration file intended for the modem. Once the status light turns solid, you will unplug the thumb drive, and reboot the modem.

Walk to your computer, and plug the thumb drive in the USB-C port on the PC. Insert your nanoSIM (if applciable), and microSD on the tray, and insert into the PC. You would then plug the PC in, and power on the system. As with the modem, it would go through a setup process, but unlike the modem, you will see the progress of the installation. At the end of the installation, you will be prompted to add your fingerprint. You would be able to use your fingerprint to authenticate yourself with software installations, and updates as well as enter sites that can use the fingerprint as the authenticated option. You will the be greeted with the login screen to where you will authenticate with your fingerprint. The first thing that will happen is the OS will propose if you wish to go through the tutorial. If you haven’t used Senitrus OS before, or if this is your first real computer, then you would want to. Once you gone through the tutorial, you would want to check your network settings. If your wifi shows yellow, then you would want to go to the Network Icon, and see why. The most likely reason is you would need to call your ISP? and ask to refresh the MAC address. Give it another 10 minutes, and you should be running.

Next is the printer. You would insert the nanoSIM (if applicable), and. the microSD card. If you wish to connect to the network wired, then you would plug the ethernet adapter into the rear USB-C port, and the adapter to a plugged in ethernet cable. You would then plug the thumb drive into the front of the printer, and turn it on. As with the modem, and PC, it will use the configuration file, and set everything up on its own. If not connected to ethernet, then it will connect via wifi. If using ink tank printers, you would fill up the ink, and do a test print. The printer would have receive network settings, FOIP settings, and any shares of people that are in your home, or visit you frequently. If you would be using the printer for voicemail services, you would want to call your printer, enter the configuration panel, and add your voicemail. Another option is to copy your vm.mp3 greeting from your computer or thumb drive, and to the printer’s B:/ root. Once you done that, you would be completely finished with setting up the printer.

Next is the W series phone. This will be your home phone, and wouldn’t have any connection beyond your recognized wifi networks. Insert your microSD card into the phone, and plug the thumb drive on the port you was using for charging. Turn the phone on though the right hand side button. As with everything else, you would see the screen flash with installations, and settings. You will be prompted if you wish to set up your fingerprint for authentication. If yes, then do so in a similar manner as the PC. Once done, your contact details will be installed, and all of your other contacts will be installed (as long as you populated the contacts service). Your SIP and wifi settings will be installed. Your home phone is now setup.

Last is your smartphone. This will require a couple of more steps which is why it is best to do this last. Since your smartphone is eSIM? only, you will have an extra step with that regards. Insert your microSD card into the phone, and then insert the thumb drive into your charging port. Turn the phone on in the same way as your wifi phone. You will also be asked about fingerprint setup. Once you done setting up your fingerprint, your new smartphone will ask if you wish to try to transfer your old phone’s configuration to the new phone. If so, select Yes. You would then be asked to unplug your thumb drive, and use the USB-C charging cable to connect to your old phone (that requires USB-C or an adapter). The Senitrus phone will try to transfer the phone number from the old phone to the new phone. Once you done that, it will then transfer your messages, and call logs. If you transfer contacts, the phone will compare the local contacts with those on the Senitrus website to remove duplicates. If the phone didn’t transfer, you would need to contact support for an eSIM QR code. They should email one to you, and you would authenticate that way. You would then plug the two phones back together to transfer messages, and call logs.

While the process looks intensive, it is much simpler than it looks. Note, I have not once made mention of entering your Senitrus ID credentials, nor have I made any mention of SIP addresses, and email addresses, This is because it was all in the config file. This is intended to keep things as simple as possible.
